The ECNP Congress is Europe’s largest meeting in applied and translational neuroscience, annually bringing together some 5,500 psychiatrists, neuroscientists, neurologists and psychologists from around the world to share the latest discoveries and developments in the science and treatment of disorders of the brain.
This year, the ECNP was held in Milan, world famous for its elegant design. So there was no better place to do the opposite.
We set up an installation to reveal the disorder caused by the neglected symptoms of Schizophrenia.
In the center of town, we recreated the real, messy spaces of people with the condition, and using augmented reality, visitors could discover the hallucinations, thinking problems, and frustrations that too often turn life upside-down — all to help providers and caregivers recognize the total impact of schizophrenia, and inspire a new mindset for managing it.
